Air Cooled Heat Exchangers

Heat Exchangers of several types of construction are included in this group.  Some are not best described as ‘air-cooled’.  ‘Bar-and-Plate’ construction is popular for after-cooler and oil-cooler applications on compressors while ‘Tube-and-Fin’ construction is typical for make-up air heating and cooling.  In addition to these more common designs, spiral-fin, plate-fin, copper-soldered, welded-fin, embedded-fin, extruded-fin construction can be selected to provide the best fit for a particular application.  Many construction types can be used for demanding Complex Gas-to-Air, Gas-to-Liquid, Solvent-Recovery, Evaporating and Condensing applications.  Some applications require a more rugged design, while some require low gas-side pressure drops, below 10" w.c.  The approach to selection is based on the application, not on ‘cookie-cutter’ designs collecting dust on the inventory shelves.
